This project was a first foray into vacuum-press veneering. Six dashboard pieces from a 1967 Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet convertible were damaged from exposure and needed to be refaced. It was a pleasure reverse-engineering the 1960s German methodologies for veneering complex curves. I disassembled, repaired, and then prepped the original substrate pieces for new wood faces in zebrawood.
