Study and meeting table

60” diameter, 30” height

Hard maple, solid and veneer, mahogany inlays

Looking down on a light cream-colored wood table with a round top and curvy legs that swoop out from a center pedestal. The backdrop is smooth, black asphalt. The table top has a four-leaf clover or poppy-shaped inlay pattern on the top.

This piece was created using glue-lamination. Each leg is composed of six layers of solid maple. The table top is veneered with maple and edged with more glue-laminated maple. The petal pattern outline, lines and dots are inlaid mahogany. Rigidity is achieved with a cross-brace tying the legs together underneath the table top and the “peanut” in the center of the pedestal.

A close view of a table pedestal. Swoop in towards the center and back out as they reach the floor. Parallel lines bisect columns of dots in a decorative pattern where the legs join in the middle.
